The 3 Claude Skills That Actually Move Sales
The Sales pack covers the full cycle — research before a call, cold outreach before a conversation, and debrief after a deal closes or dies. Four skills total. Here are the three that matter most.
/prospect-research
Going into a sales call cold is a choice. Most people do it because the research feels like it takes too long. So they walk in hoping the conversation will reveal what they need to know, instead of walking in already knowing it.
/prospect-research takes a company name or person and returns a 90-second brief — what the company does, recent signals worth mentioning, the person's role and background, and the most likely pain points your product maps to. Fast enough to run in the 10 minutes before a call.
The output is short on purpose. You don't need a full dossier. You need three talking points and one smart question that makes it clear you actually did your homework. That's what this gives you.
Run it before every call. The ones where you skip it are always the ones where you wish you hadn't.
/cold-outreach
Cold outreach fails because it's generic. Same template, same opener about "reaching out to connect," same pitch that could have been sent to anyone. The person on the other end can feel that, and they delete it without thinking about it.
/cold-outreach researches a prospect and writes a personalized first touch plus two follow-ups. The first email opens with something specific to that person — a recent hire, a public statement, a product change — then connects it to what you do and makes a direct ask. The follow-ups don't repeat the same pitch. They're calibrated to the silence.
This level of personalization used to take 30–45 minutes per prospect. It takes under 5 now.
Pair it with /prospect-research first — use the research output as the brief, and the outreach lands with actual context behind it.
/deal-debrief
Most people skip the debrief. After a win, you move to the next thing. After a loss, you want to move on. Both are understandable. Both are how you end up repeating the same mistakes without knowing it.
/deal-debrief runs a structured win/loss analysis after every closed deal. It walks through each stage — where momentum built, where it stalled, what objections came up and how they landed, what you'd do differently. Then it gives you one diagnosis and one thing to change for the next deal.
Not a list of observations. One thing. That's the constraint that makes it actually useful.
If you run this consistently, you build a personal sales playbook over time based on your actual deals, not someone else's framework. That's something no training can give you.
All four skills in the Sales pack — including /proposal-writer — are available to Skills Pack members. They ship as SKILL.md files — drop them into ~/.claude/skills/ and invoke with the slash command in Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
